The Bandung City Government through the Bandung City Regional Secretariat held a High Level Meeting (HLM) of the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) on Wednesday (6/03/2024). However, ahead of HKBN, efforts still need to be made to maintain price stability, especially basic foodstuffs, especially rice, which is volatile and experiencing scarcity. The Head of BPS Bandung City, Samiran, as the resource person conveyed an overview of the inflation rate in February 2024. Inflation in Bandung City was the lowest at 1.95 percent. He also conveyed the condition of rice sales in several traditional markets until the first week of March 2024, where the impact of the Cheap Market Movement (GPM) on rice has been felt by several traders who claim a decrease in demand. Hopefully, rice prices will be able to decline in the future. In addition, the pattern of inflation on holidays since 2019 and also commodities that are often volatile in the month of fasting and Eid al-Fitr which can be a reference for what commodities should be monitored and paid attention to.
