Abstract

September 2021 Bandung experienced a deflation of -0.14 percent. The highest deflation was in the food, beverage and tobacco group of -0.87 percent.

Bandung in September 2021 experienced a deflation of -0.14 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.73. The CPI in September decreased when compared to the CPI in August 2021, which was 106.88. Jawa Barat experienced a deflation of -0.11 percent, while nationally there was a deflation of -0.04 percent.

This September 2021 deflation occurred due to a decrease in the index in the food, beverage and tobacco groups by -0.87 percent. The groups that experienced an increase in the index were the housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups by 0.27 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.13 percent; health group by 0.02 percent; transportation group by 0.08 percent; personal care and other services group by 0.15 percent. While the clothing group and footwear; information, communication and financial services group; recreation, sports and cultural groups; education group; and the food and beverage/restaurant supply group did not experience a change in the price index.

The inflation rate for the calendar year (January–September) 2021 is 0.98 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2021 to September 2020) is 1.72 percent.
