Abstract

In March 2024, the number of poor people (people with per capita expenditure per month below the poverty line) in Bandung City reached 101.10 thousand people (3.87 percent), a decrease of 1.70 thousand people compared to the poor population in March 2023 which was 102.80 thousand people (3.96 percent).

The Poverty Line (GK) in Bandung City in March 2024 amounted to Rp. 614,707 per capita per month, an increase of Rp. 23,583 compared to the GK in March 2023 which amounted to Rp. 591,124.

The Poverty Depth Index (P1) and Poverty Severity Index (P2) experienced changes in the March 2023 - March 2024 period. The Poverty Depth Index rose from 0.59 in March 2023 to 0.60 in March 2024, while the Poverty Severity Index fell from 0.15 in March 2023 to 0.14 in March 2024. The increase and decrease in the value of this index indicates that the average expenditure of the poor tends to move away from the Poverty Line and the expenditure inequality among the poor is relatively smaller.
