Bandung City's Human Development Index (HDI) in 2024 is 83.75

The Human Development Index (HDI) of Bandung City in 2024 reached 83.75, an increase of 0.46 points (0.55 percent) compared to the previous year (83.29).

Abstract

The increase in HDI in Bandung City in 2024 occurred in all dimensions, including longevity and healthy living, knowledge, and decent standard of living.

HDI growth in 2024 experienced a slowdown from the previous year. All dimensions of HDI have increased, especially Life Expectancy at Birth (UHH).

In the dimension of longevity and healthy living, babies born in 2024 can expect to live up to 75.83 years, an increase of 0.3 years compared to those born in the previous year. The data source for life expectancy at birth uses the results of the SP2020 Long Form (SP2020-LF).

On the knowledge dimension, the expected years of schooling (HLS) of the population aged 7 years increased by 0.01 years compared to the previous year, from 14.24 to 14.25 years, while the average years of schooling (RLS) of the population aged 25 years and over increased by 0.01 years, from 11.06 years to 11.07 years in 2023. The data source for HLS and RLS uses the results of the March Susenas.

The dimension of decent living standards as measured by the average real expenditure per capita per year (adjusted) increased by 559 thousand rupiah (3.07 percent) compared to the previous year. The data source for real expenditure per capita per year uses the results of the March Susenas.
