Today, Thursday, August 4, 2022, I accompanied the Field Data Collection Officer to conduct a survey of Large and Medium Industries (IBS) in Andir District, Bandung City. At around 9.00 am I left for the data collection location around Sudirman Suites Apartment on Jl. General Sudirman Bandung. Arriving there we headed to the first responder PT. Paragon Partner Elephant. This company is engaged in the garment sector, namely the manufacture of apparel, which in particular is military and police clothing. Entering the company gate, we were immediately greeted by a security guard and asked "what do you want and from where?" We explained that we from BPS wanted to take the IBS survey document which had previously been entrusted to the HRD section. Then the security guard contacted him and thank God he was invited to meet. In short, we met and the documents were handed over, but upon inspection it turned out that there were still many blanks. So we asked for his time to be interviewed directly so that the blanks can be filled in truthfully.

After the interview with the HRD of this company, we continued to the next respondent “PT. X” which is engaged in textiles. After the gate was opened by the security guard, we went in and intended to meet with "Mr. X" in the public section where the documents had been previously deposited. But apparently he was not there. On the control card, he does not include a cellphone number that can be contacted, there is only a phone number. his office. We also asked for her cellphone number from the mother who received us, but the mother refused, then we asked for the mother's cellphone number so that PCL could make an appointment and make sure that the documents were filled in before she came to her office, but the mother insisted that she would not give his HP no.

From there, we continued to the next respondent, “PT. Y” which is engaged in the printing sector. Thank God we managed to meet the person who was entrusted with the documents and as before, there were still questions that had not been filled in, so we conducted a direct interview with him. Then we proceed to “PT. Z” which is engaged in the plastic industry, namely the manufacture of plastic bottle packaging, etc. When PCL asked where his contact person was, it turned out that he was on leave and was told to come back next Monday. I didn't realize it was 12.30 WIB, and I had to go back to the office because I had an appointment with PCL VIMK.

From this story there are things that need to be observed:

• When PCL comes to the company, they must wear neat clothes, complete attributes, accompanied by a letter of assignment, so that the company believes and is willing to provide data.

• PCL must ask for a telephone number that can be contacted so that they can make an appointment before coming to the company to make sure the documents are completely filled out.

• When collecting documents, PCL must re-check the completeness of its contents.

• The company usually does not want to fill in the financial section for reasons of tax and business competition from similar companies that are its competitors, so PCL is obliged to explain that this survey is confidential, data security is guaranteed by law.

• PCL must be diligent in communicating with the contact person, whether the data has been filled in or not, if not, what are the problems.

• Pray for smooth

healthy greetings,

Harry Nurdyana S., S.Si, ME
