In order to increase the capacity of statistical data management, the Sectoral Statistics Development Team of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Bandung City conducted visits to 15 Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) within the Bandung City Government for three days, starting from 7 to 11 October 2024. A total of 8 teams of PSS BPS Bandung City namely Alpha Team, Betha Team, Delta Team, Gamma Team, Rho Team, Lambada Team, Sigma Team and Theta Team made direct visits to OPD Offices.

This visit is the initial stage of the Sectoral Statistics Development (PSS) program which is useful in adding insight and ability of OPD in organizing sectoral statistics, especially the implementation of the Generic Statistical Business Process Model (GSBPM) and the implementation of Satu Data Indonesia (SDI). A total of 14 DPOs in a span of 5 working days visited the initial stage of Sectoral Statistics Development such as the Regional Finance and Assets Agency (BKAD), Health Office (DHO), Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil), Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar), Population Control and Family Planning Office (DPPKB,) Education Office (Disdik), Bandung Sumur District, Bandung Kulon District, Babakan Ciparay District, Mandalajati District, Bojongloa Kidul District, Batununggal District, Lengkong District, Sukajadi District and Panyileukan District.

Dialogue and interviews were promoted by the PSS Team of BPS Bandung City to gain a better understanding of the type of data collected and the methodology used. The first step in the screening process is to identify the section/sections in the OPD that has the responsibility for collecting and managing statistical data. After the OPD is identified, BPS will conduct preliminary data collection from each OPD. This data includes the types of statistics produced, data collection methodology, and frequency of reporting etc. Sub-district OPD activities recorded at this initial stage are the Community Satisfaction Survey, while for other Department OPDs such as the 2018-2023 Tourism Competitiveness Index (Disbudpar), Compilation of Bandung City Regional Budget and Expenditure Realization (BKAD) etc. This data collection aims to get an initial overview of the quality and quantity of data owned by each OPD. The PSS team identifies in order to conduct analysis and feedback on the implementation of sectoral statistics that has been running in the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) of the Bandung City Government.

During the 5-day visit by the PSS Team of BPS Bandung City, there was high enthusiasm from each OPD. The OPD had the opportunity to discuss directly with the BPS team about the obstacles faced in data management. This activity is expected to strengthen collaboration between BPS and OPD, and encourage the use of quality statistical data in decision making. In the future, BPS Bandung City plans to continue this coaching with more in-depth follow-up sessions, in order to improve the capacity and quality of data within the Bandung City Government.
