Abstract

The number of labor force in August 2023 was 1,318.9 thousand people, a decrease of 116.7 thousand people compared to August 2022. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) decreased by 2.45 percentage points from 69.42 percent to 66.97 percent.

The working population was 1,202.5 thousand people, a decrease of 96.0 thousand people from August 2022. The employment sector that experienced the largest decline was employment in the services sector (52.8 thousand people). Meanwhile, the employment that experienced the smallest decline was employment in the agricultural sector (0.8 thousand people).

A total of 736.2 thousand people (61.23 percent) worked in formal activities, a decrease of 30.5 thousand people compared to August 2022.

The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2023 amounted to 8.83 percent, a decrease of 0.72 percentage points compared to August 2022 which amounted to 9.55 percent.
