Bandung, December 20, 2024 - The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Bandung City and 'Aisyiyah University Bandung (Unisa) officially established a strategic collaboration. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) took place on Friday (20/12) at the Meeting Room of 'Aisyiyah University Bandung. This collaboration is a concrete step in realizing the mandate of Presidential Regulation Number 39 of 2019 concerning One Data Indonesia (SDI), in which BPS plays a role as a data coach and Diskominfo Kota Bandung as the administrator.


The Head of BPS Bandung City, Samiran S.Si, M.T., emphasized the importance of accurate and integrated data in planning and policy making, saying, 'Good data is the foundation for sustainable development. Through this collaboration, we hope to improve the quality of statistical data in Bandung City and support the government's efforts in realizing people's welfare. Samiran also invited the UNISA academic community and their families to welcome BPS data collection officers who come to their homes. BPS has many surveys that aim to collect accurate and useful data for various interests. Therefore, let us provide the correct information to the officer.


Rector of Universitas 'Aisyiyah Bandung (Unisa), Tia Setiawati, M.Kep., Ns., Sp.Kep., An., in her speech emphasized the importance of data analysis in education. She explained that quality data allows us to optimize the learning process, research, and curriculum development. Furthermore, the Rector of Unisa also highlighted the crucial role of data in anticipating changing times and dynamic job market needs, including the utilization of the great potential of Big Data.


Key Points in the MoU and MoA:

  1. Capacity Building: Both parties will cooperate in capacity building of human resources in the field of statistics.
  2. Community Service: Implementing community service programs that utilize statistical data to benefit the community.
  3. Data Exchange: Establish a secure and efficient data exchange system to support research and development activities.

This collaboration is a follow-up to the successful organization of the SPSS Workshop last April. The workshop provided provisions for the Unisa academic community in processing data using SPSS statistical software. It is hoped that with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), strategic cooperation can be carried out in the context of the Higher Education Chess Dharma and increasing institutional resources. The signing of the MoU and MoA today marks the beginning of a new chapter in strategic cooperation between the two parties. This cooperation is expected to optimally support the implementation of the Higher Education Chess Dharma and contribute to the efforts to educate the nation through the utilization of quality data.
